  • FRANCESCA’S TALK

“I was officially diagnosed with autism in 2023. Before the diagnosis, I felt like I didn't fit into the molds society demanded of me, practicing masking for most of my life. Now, I seek to continue my work while trying to better understand myself and the limits in the neurotypical world around me, helping others do the same. Cannabis and other drugs are important tools in my well-being, especially cannabis, which relieves my physical and mental pains, helps me focus, socialize, and has positively changed my life for 10 years. It's not a cure-all, and we know it doesn't work the same for everyone, but there's plenty of evidence from consumers and science that this is a reality for many people. We all have the right to try.

And this is I wanna talk about.”

    ABOUT FRANCESCA

Having worked first as an actress, reporter, and television show host, and then as an activist for cannabis legalization (which was instrumental in Peru's 2017 progressive medical cannabis bill) and patients' rights after a hiatus from her media career due to being diagnosed with several rare diseases (and using cannabis for her betterment), Francesca now works as a harm reductionist and drug researcher at the Peruvian NGO Proyecto Soma since 2021, leading their fieldwork and educational projects.
